Warrington Borough Council have published their draft Local Plan which includes Peel Hall. Helen was disappointed that plans for Peel Hall continue to be in the document, despite the fact that plans to build on the site were rejected, for a second time, at a Planning Inquiry last year.
“The council say that the Local Plan has been drawn up having been ‘informed’ by feedback from the public. I would have thought that the almost unanimous opposition to any development on the site by literally thousands of people would have informed the council in a better way than it seems to have done.
“There is still time to change the plan. Many borough and parish councillors support removing the site from the plan. I will be presenting my petition, with nearly 1,000 signatories, to the council on 7 June which will be added to the submission to the council’s consultations. I would urge everyone to submit their views to the consultation which closes on 17 June. You can find out how to do so at: https://www.warrington.gov.uk/info/201103/consultations/2488/consultation-on-proposed-submission-version-local-plan
“I hope the council does listen to the overwhelming ‘no’ from residents on this issue.”
